- Third baseman wins award in just second week with White Sox
"He’s made it easy to forget that he still has yet to pitch a game at the Triple-A level. Quintana was released by the Yankees’ organization after pitching in Single-A last year. He certainly doesn’t have the profile of someone who should be dominating the best lineup in baseball.
But on Thursday, Quintana did just that. And perhaps the most surprising thing is that it wasn’t really a surprise at all.”
Another great game for the White Sox. A 4-3 win over the Yankees after a 3-run HR from Dayan Viciedo in the top of the 9th.
Rookie Dylan Axelrod pitched a good game, Youkilis made a nice play with the bases loaded and De Aza had 4 hits including a solo HR.
Jose Quintana (another rookie) pitches tomorrow.
White Sox win big (12-5) over the Twins. De Aza, Youkilis, Dunn and Rios had three hits apiece and Sale had another great pitching performance.
The Indians lost so the Sox are now 2.5 games up.
Youkilis getting warmed up before his first game with the White Sox.
Even though Robin Ventura spelled his name wrong on the lineup sheet, Youkilis will bat second. He will wear #20 after Jordan Danks gave it up for him. Beckham will drop down to #9 in the batting order.
Game 1: Jake Peavy (6-3 2.74 ERA) vs. Francisco Liriano (1-7 5.74 ERA)
Game 2: Gavin Floyd (5-7 5.20 ERA) vs. Liam Hendriks (0-4 7.39 ERA)
Game 3: Chris Sale (8-2 2.24 ERA) vs. Nick Blackburn (4-4 7.45 ERA)
